birthday travels

there is a little cabin by the river.  a sweet little thing.  surrounded by trees.  christoph told me that it was mine today.  and yesterday too.  what a gift.  this morning, as a present to myself, i walked there along the river.  nibbled on cedar.  crushed wild peppermint in my palm and inhaled.  i rested on the rocks and let the sun soak into my face.  and the sound of the water rushing pulled at my rushed morning.  pulled the grumpy children from under my skin.  and reminded me that sometimes i like to be alone.

this juxtaposed by putting away snow pants and tidying toys, visiting goats, and arguing with grumpy child.

happy birthday to me!!!

  1. I hope you’re able to have something of a birthday week – carrying the memory of Cristoph’s cabin visit with you. In the midst of being a Mama warrier …
I’ve been wondering how Cristoph has been doing (No internet at home, or facebook, which is my wilderness for now.)
Thank you so much for sharing the pictures with us.
For me, it’s a bit of a respite just looking at them. i hope it provides something similar when you look at them again and again. Along with your morning yoga!
Whose goats were you visiting with?
